Welcome to the Hill

PVAMU is known as "The Hill" because the campus is literally on a hill. Some describe it as one of the most beautiful collage campuses in the State. College grads enjoy having some of their senior photos taken at the entrance to PVAMU. It was the first thing they see when coming to the campus the first time.

What is PVAMU best known for?

The most popular majors at PVAMU include: Health Professions and Related Programs; Engineering; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Parks, Recreation, Leisure, and Fitness Studies; and Biological and Biomedical Sciences. BUT, PVAMU also has a great sports program and they are part of the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference). If you played sports for PVAMU, some of the best photos for your graduation would be in your college uniform or at or near the area you played.
